Team Work - make the load lighter.......

Good morning, and greetings to each of you fellow adventures in the Word. It's been a while since I have posted, but that dosen't mean I have not been reading! How about you, are you enjoying "Walking in the Word" as we adventure daily through the Living Word of our King!!
God has been speaking to my heart, and I hope He is to yours as well. I would sure love to see more of you posting comments under my posts, insights to scripture, simple comments, questions for us to consider? Jump in and encourage us, Ella has made some very encouraging comments - thanks Ella!!

Let me share a few things that caught my attention in todays reading....
Exodus 17:11-12 seems to me to be a real picture of "Team Work". Team work in the body of Christ is essential, we are all called to lend a hand, get involved, be dependable and consistent. I noticed this same theme in Exodus 18:22, in this passage Jethro is giving some sage advice to son-in-law Moses about finding some help to lighten his load. In essence Jethro tells Moses, "...Son a little Team Work would really help you, pick some dependable, consistent, God fearing helpers..." my quote. The scripture actually says "...That will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you." Exd. 18:22b - good advise!!

This statement took my mind and heart from the Old Testament to what Jesus said in the New Testament - a promise to each of us of His Help in our lives, realize the greatest team mate we have is Jesus!!! Listen to what He tells us.......

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for you souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30 Niv.

Praise the Lord..... be encouraged, we have an awesome "Team Mate" in Jesus, and a great example of what it means to be a Team Player....

Blessings,
Pastor Paul

  1. Hi everyone!
Although I haven't been at church, I have been following the one year plan with you, reading in The Message Bible. I wanted to share the beginning of Psalm 27 with you and how it encouraged me today. The past few months my health has not been good. I have read through the Bible each day as I do my first nebulizer treatment of the day. The last month and the rest of this month have consisted of multiple doctor visits and planning for upcoming surgeries. I don't know about you but watching a list of diagnoses grow, and planning for multiple future surgeries can strike a note of fear in my heart.

But our amazing God gives us his word to meet our every need. Psalm 27 begins "Light, space, zest--that's God So with Him on my side I'm fearless, afraid of no one and nothing!" I don't know about you, but struggling for breath after years of asthma in control can be scary. But thank our Heavenly Father, He is on my side and I can be free of fear.

God bless you all today. Don't let the news reports or doctors reports or any other report bring you fear, for our God is on our side and we can be free of fear!! Hallelujah!

  2. When I was reading Exodus 28:36--Next make a medallion of pure gold. Using the techniques of an engraver, inscribe it with these words: SET APART AS HOLY TO THE LORD.--- In these days we are priests unto the Lord. and we are set apart to do God's work. I'm reading from the NLT Bible. And the highlighted verse is in Matt.25:40--AND THE KING WILL TELL THEM, "I ASSURE YOU, WHEN YOU DID IT TO ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS. YOU WERE DOING IT TO ME!" This was one of the verses in our Tuesday meeting. A good reminder to do this daily. Ella

  3. Good morning to all! As I read the Word this morning, what spoke to me was the Lord saying that it is not okay to place other things before the Lord. The Lord comes first. When Judas accepted the money in trade for betraying Jesus, he had taken his eyes off of the Lord and made money more important than following Jesus. Many times there are things in our lives that come before us. And sometimes these things look so appealing that we take our eyes off of the Lord and place them on other things. For some it could be work. For others recreation or money or drugs or alcohol.

And then as I read the Psalm, my heart was crushed to know that at times, I, too, have treated the Lord with disrespect. Psalm 31:19-24 says, " How great is the goodness
you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world.
20 You hide them in the shelter of your presence,
safe from those who conspire against them.
You shelter them in your presence,
    far from accusing tongues.

    21 Praise the Lord,
for he has shown me the wonders of his unfailing love.
He kept me safe when my city was under attack.
22 In panic I cried out,
“I am cut off from the Lord!”
But you heard my cry for mercy
and answered my call for help.

23 Love the Lord, all you godly ones!
For the Lord protects those who are loyal to him,
but he harshly punishes the arrogant.
24 So be strong and courageous,
all you who put your hope in the Lord!"

The Lord has kept me safe from my enemies. Praise God! The last verse is very important to me and an encouragement for when I get into times of temptation. "So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord." He is the One who gets us through each day. Continue to let your eyes rest upon His face and do not stray. God bless each one and have a great day in Jesus!

  6. From today's reading--Lev. 2:13--Season all your grain offerings with last to remind you of God's eternal covenant. Never forget to add salt to your grain offerings. I've been reading this for many years, but this is the first time that I saw that they had to add salt to all their grain offerings. The explanation from the study Bible--The offerings were seasoned wiath salt as a reminder of the people's covenant (Contract) with God. Salt is a good symbol of God's activity in a person's life because it penetrates, preserves, and aids in healing. God wants to be active in your life. Let him become part of you, penetrating every aspect of your life, preserving you from the evil all aroung, and healing you of your sins and shortcoming. Another one---In ancient Middle Eastern lands, an agreement was sealed with a gift of salt to show the strength and permanence of the contract. Salt also points to the effects of a truthful agreement--it changes behavior. In Matthew 5:13 believers are called "the salt of the earth." let the salt you use each day remind you that you are now one of God's covenant people, who actively helps preserve and purify the world.

I was making myself feel like a foolish woman after leading the Sunday School time yeaterday. I realize that the enemy wants me to feel like that so I am telling myself that I am a child of the King and I am in His care. Wow, God is good, isn't He?

  7. The theme for Psalm 46--God is always there to help, providing refuge, security, and peace. God's power is complete and his ultimate victory is certain. He will not fail to rescue those who love him. The highlighted is verses 1-3--God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. 2.So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. 3.Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!

These verses gave me encouragement and a song in my heart. the song--He Hideth My Soul--has been my song from my Savior since my acceptance of Him as my Savior and Lord. What a love He has for us all that He died for us. Praise His Holy Name!!!!

Verse 10--Be still and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world. Just be still in the Presence of the Lord......Hallelujah, praise the Lord....
